After several days of heavy walking, and not too much time before catching the bullet train back to Paris, a light day was in order. Headed over to Westminster Abby, where President Obama was visit just the day before, to see many public displays of affection for our country’s leader. The skies were absolutely stunning that day, and views of/from Westminster Abby and the Victoria Tower speak for themselves. Back on the train to Paris to close out the trip, but not without one final shot of Gare du Nord (so cliche). Whew…time for a nap.
Another full day of exploration lead to visiting the Kensington Palace and Gardens in Hyde Park. We also headed towards South Kensington to visit the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Science Museum. Afterwards, took a walk back through Hyde park to see the Diana Memorial Fountain, The Serpentine, Speakers Corner, and the Marble Arch.
The first day in London. We arrived by bullet train in the morning from Lille, France. Wasting no time, we headed out for the changing of the guards, which is quite the production. Continuing on down the Thames to The City to explore the financial & new architectural area of London.
