Welcome back for more wedding goodies! If you guys missed our last wedding at the sunny Bahia Hotel in San Diego, CA, you can certainly just head on over and take a peek. San Diego Beach Wedding at the Bahia Hotel – Part One & San Diego Beach Wedding Reception at the Bahia Hotel – Part Two.
I have to preface this blog post: I believe this is one of the most amazing weddings we’ve had the pleasure of shooting this year. The venue was a private estate just south of Salem, OR, and it was mind-blowingly stunning. At times, we are limited by venues…but this time, the venue challenged us to keep up with it!
Hence, Part One of the Herbel Wedding: The property featured a large pond, complete with waterfalls that begin at the upper terraces. The altar was set on a dock protruding into the pond, and the ceremony seating was arranged on a large, paved area surrounding the altar. The property was heavily modified for this unique event…all the seating, altar, walkways/stairs and waterfalls were constructed specifically for this wedding. There were also two gigantic oak trees in the front of the property. You will see they really lent themselves for not only things like the dress shots, but also great open shade for portraits.
Amanda & Zach were so much fun to spend the day with. Don’t miss out on their engagement photos…these were taken last November Mill City Oregon Engagement Session. You will see how their love for each other just radiated during the first look and the ceremony. They also knew how to relax and have fun, and their creativity shows in the custom-painted vans that the groom & groomsmen wore. To go along with that, they pretty much had the most unique first look…you’ll have to read along to see what I’m talking about.
This post will showcase the guys & girls getting ready, portraits, an awesome, unique first look, and a lovely ceremony.
