For Harrah and Nikki, we opted not to do the typical Santa Monica Beach/Pier shots – eating ice cream, holding a balloon, and looking out over the railing on the pier. Instead, we took unique shots of Harrah and Nikki that speak volumes about the love they share for one another. We visited multiple locations in Santa Monica: The pier & boardwalk, Tongva Park, and the Viceroy Hotel.
They wore both the traditional Indian wedding garb and western wedding attire, which was great for working around the various areas of the beach-front. The architectural structures, the park’s colorful fields with lush greenery, the mosaic archway of City Hall, the evening silhouettes with the rollercoaster at the Santa Monica Pier in the distance – all were great backdrops to support this fantastic content.
As a side-note, Tongva Park is a great place to have a session because it is not your typical park. It’s an example of great landscape design & overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The space has been transformed into a serene wonderland of winding pathways with elegantly designed waterways, an eclectic collection of plants, benches and picnic areas. In a word, it is beautiful, and it’s a perfect for spot to hang out if you’re ever in town & want to get away from the hustle-bustle of the beach.
