I had the privilege of photographing the unveiling of Long Beach Airport’s upgraded concourse and terminal last December with the Long Beach Post. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and was attended by local dignitaries and media. The waitstaff donned retro flight attendant outfits, complete with a red-striped silk scarf and light wands. Talk about setting the ambiance! At the event, the airport also featured the Catalina Flying Boats’ Douglas DC-3 that acted as a link to the city’s aviation history. The $45 million project took 2 years and increased the area by 35,000 square feet, the center of which contains a peaceful garden and palm court. The project also includes exhibits that emphasize Long Beach’s extensive history in aviation. As a departure from the sterile and lofty style reminiscent of larger airports such as LAX, Long Beach Airport instead favors patios, fire pits and native plant gardens. In fact, I’d say that people would probably mistake the airport as Read More

Chi & Rich are clearly meant for one another. The way their inside jokes and mannerisms play off one another is uncanny. The way they survived the droughts of a long-distance relationship in stride – always with a smile – a candidate poster-couple for others to learn from. We are very honored to be their story-tellers. Only a few times a year are we so graced to capture events such as this. Events of true grandeur, filled with thoughtfulness & endearment at every turn. We love to have our couples pour endless, oozing amounts their unique, personal touches into the details of the day – from locations, to garb, to tablescapes, and even to something we can’t convey here, music. Their day began at the Langham and Westin Hotels in Pasadena. They also saw each other for the first time in the Langham Hotel’s Japanese Garden, where they have a quaint little red bridge that just complimented the occasion perfectly Read More
The second installment of project “Catch Up”: Bryce’s first Christmas. I promise the others to come in much quicker secession. December was a very busy month for the Taylor family. Bryce celebrated Christmas multiple times with different friends and family. He was beyond overwhelmed by all of the new toys and gifts. The wrapping paper and boxes proved to be equally if not more entertaining than the gifts! He was army crawling all over the place by Christmas too! Christmas day we were at home and had the grandparents over. Bryce once again was totally exhausted unwrapping all of the exciting gifts he received from everyone, including Santa Claus! After Christmas, we went up to Grandma’s cabin for the night. Bryce enjoyed his first snow experience. Unfortunately his snow suit arrived the day we left so his snow exposure was pretty limited. We just had to layer him up and make do with what we had! We had such a Read More
These two love-birds are getting married next weekend, and we just wanted to show off some of their lovely engagement content from back in May. A big thanks to Renee & Jimmy for being such a great couple – you make our time so enjoyable & we can’t wait to be there on your big day!
This post is the start of our look back on the little big man’s first year. We have been so lucky to have such a loving little man in our lives. There are about 4-5 more posts in the rest of the series, so make sure to check back to see more soon! We had a very eventful Fall 2012 and celebrated Bryce’s first Halloween and Thanksgiving! He celebrated his first Halloween with a fun party at daycare, a scary Skeleton costume, and helped hand out candy to the trick or treaters in our neighborhood. We were even able to prop him up to a “sitting” position using pumpkins for some precious photographs of him in his costume! By Thanksgiving, he had mastered sitting and hit a milestone that Mom and Dad really enjoyed. He learned to hold his own bottle! I never realized how convenient it is when your baby learns to do this but it really was awesome. Read More
Today we had a blast celebrating Sirena’s First Birthday over at Marina Vista Park here in Long Beach. The June gloom didn’t keep everyone from having fun with a water balloon toss and other kid friendly games. Miss Sirena received tons of awesome gifts too! Of course, no first birthday party would be complete without a cake smash. Sirena really seemed to enjoy that cake, even though at first it was a bit scary. She definitely is a neat eater compared to little Bryce! Bryce had fun playing at the party. He also discovered his first stick at the park and was introduced to his first juice box at the party which he automatically squeezed and sprayed apple juice everywhere! Thank you for having us at the party today and Happy Birthday, Sirena!
Steve & Stefany are head over heels for each other, and it’s hard not a smile everytime we look though their images. We knew when they came to meet with us late last year for their Long Beach wedding this August that their event would be thoughtful and full of love. Spending time with Steve & Stefany over the course of our Downtown Long Beach street-side engagement just reinforced why we do what we do – surrounding ourselves with couples who radiate happiness and affection for everyone in their lives. One of our favorite things to ask our couples is just to relax, take a deep breath, act like we’re not there, and just let their love for one-another shine. To Steve & Stefany it was just second nature, and it allowed us to truly capture their fun & loving glances. We also put together a little Fusion Slideshow and it’s up for viewing here on their Couple’s Site – Read More
