Sometimes, events are like a fairy-tale. When the perfect ingredients are put together: vision, drive, heart, execution – the outcome can be incredible. Neill & Nicole’s Midsummer Night’s Dream Themed Wedding was one of these special occasions. Set in a beautiful private estate in the hills of Tarzana, this property lent every inch to making their dream wedding come true. Today we bring you a sneak at their day, starting with candids, prep, & details – then moving into portraits & a fun first look. We absolutely love their little details in the model ship – just too much fun! There are an incredible amount of beautiful images, so we decided to stop there & bring you the ceremony & reception images in another post, coming soon – stay tuned!

Today we bring you another lovely wedding from the beautiful Wayfarers Chapel in Palos Verdes. Our couple was just brimming with happiness as their friends & family gathered in this historic chapel for the ceremony. Sometimes focusing on small celebration with a tight-knit group of friends & family can not only simplify a wedding, but it can also allow for budgeting what, in our opinion, should be one of the most important, if not the most important aspect of a wedding – the photography. We love having the time a flexibility to work with our bride & grooms so they have the most well-rounded selection of images to choose from when it comes time to design their albums. If it were possible to fast-forward 5-10, or even 15-20 years from the wedding day, it helps to see the importance of printing and owning an album – a visual document of those moments & memories. I always joke, but you never Read More

This year, Long Beach held their annual tree lighting ceremony in collaboration with the Queen Mary and the Long Beach Ronald McDonald House. It took place in the “Holiday Village CHILL” attraction. CHILL had a medley of activities including a gingerbread creation station, a candy cane maze, and of course the awesome Ice Kingdom. This was a whopping 13,000 sq. ft. wonderland handmade entirely out of ice! There were gorgeous and meticulously designed sculptures of whimsical carousal horses, castles, and even penguins. Little ones lined up to get photos with Santa and hear stories read by Mrs. Clause. Others enjoyed a rare Southern California treat, outdoor ice skating on the 6,500 sq. ft. outdoor ice rink. As a charitable event, participants were encouraged to donate items located on a wish list for admittance.  This was a small token of kindness compared to the amazing amount of gifts and attractions it help support. And of course this also was a great Read More

If you missed Part One of Stefany and Steve’s beautiful Catholic wedding, be sure to go back and check it out. The church was gorgeous and their wedding was rich in tradition. In Part Two, we’re excited to share their bride & groom portraits, plus the reception content from the Ebell Club in Long Beach. The historic Nativity Catholic Church in Torrance, built in 1924, provides a majestic backdrop to capture our couple, to whom their faith is an important part of their lives. Stefany is easy to photograph in her classic gown and flowing veil. She has an effortless smile and carries herself with grace. She and Steven are so natural with each other as they wander the grounds. We also snapped a few photos of Stefany’s mother helping lace the corset of her dress in the Brides Room. The bridal party was in high spirits and in the mood to take some whimsical shots employing the balcony of the Read More

We’ve had the pleasure of knowing Stefany and Steve over the past year, and they are such a gorgeous couple. Their splendid Catholic ceremony at Nativity Church in Torrance was no exception.  The above image – a soft kiss in black and white – shows the tenderness & loving nature of Stefany and Steve’s relationship. Part One of our blog opens with the girls prepping in a suite at the Downtown Long Beach Hilton, which had an awesome view of the city & the port. A confident Stefany beaming into a hand mirror — she knows she looks absolutely stunning! Add some dazzling jewelry and delicate pink roses, and our bride is ready to turn heads. Meanwhile, Steve’s proud father helps him straighten into his suit. The cream tie and slim jacket create a sophisticated and timeless look. Their ceremony is full of smiling faces. Stefany’s father walks her down the aisle and plants a tender kiss on her forehead before presenting his daughter to her husband. Read More

The 4th installment of project “Catch Up”, Bryce’s first swimming lessons: Bryce just finished his first ten week session of parent and child swimming lessons!  He took the classes through the Long Beach Parks and Recreation Department, which were held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Pool here in Long Beach.  Bryce loved the water from the very beginning, even though some days he found the mid-80 degree water to be a bit cold and jaw chattering.  He is now advanced in splashing and blowing bubbles. He is learning to sit on the edge of the pool until and adult instructs him that it is safe to get in the water.  He likes to be dunked under water and always looks so surprised when this happens!  Sometimes, he will even dunk his own face in the water!  We can’t wait for the next session to start in a few weeks. Our goal for the next session is to work on Read More

In Part One, we saw Renee and Jimmy’s touching wedding ceremony in San Clemente, plus got acquainted with the bridal party, the proud parents, and their adorable son. We’ve been excited to reveal Part Two for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the emotion that comes through when the bride & groom see each other for the first time – it was hard not to get choked up ourselves. It’s always such a sincere joy to be able to capture the nuances of an earnest romance like Renee and Jimmy’s. In our more candid shots, you can see the overwhelming emotions on each of their faces. For the most part, it’s like we weren’t even there and they were in a world of our own. Moving on to the reception, our newlyweds make a playful entrance to the applause of their family and friends.
