With the port of Avalon and the Descanso Beach Club as a backdrop and a soundtrack created by gentle lapping waves on the shore in chorus with a live orchestra, the time had finally come.   As Tiffany’s father walked her down the aisle, a few tears were shed. But like any strong anchor, once she reached Peter, she felt safe, secure, and ready to begin this new journey with her soon-to-be-husband. As the time for rings to be exchanged arrived, they tied the knot. Literally. In a playful tug-of-war manner, Tiffany and Peter were joined together as Man and Wife. Tiffany and Pete’s wedding was set in such a unique and beautiful location on Catalina Island.  Along with the nautical theme, there were so many touching and love-filled moments.  If you would like to see a short film of Tiffany and Pete’s day, make sure to check out the link in our portfolio section.  We wish this amazing couple a long Read More

When a love story is written, there is often some chance encounter where the damsel meets the man who is destined to be her other half. Just like in a Nicholas Sparks movie, this serendipitous moment happened in a very unlikely place; scuba diving. Tiffany and Peter met through their adoration of the ocean. While both are doctors, their love for everything nautical greatly influenced their quaint ceremony on Catalina Island.  At the Descanso Beach Club in Avalon, tables, chairs, and party favors, and even the cake had been decorated with navy blue, surrounded by model ships, anchors, and shells.  Once the preparations for the day were officially set, it was time to move to the ocean front view for their scuba-influenced ceremony.

Engagements

After meeting during a scuba diving outing, the bond between Tiffany and Pete grew quickly and became something much more than companionship.  With a wedding set to be at the Descanso Beach Club in Avalon, among the port and ocean, it was no surprise that the engagement shoot would echo a nautical theme. For our rendezvous, we met in Downtown Long Beach at Shoreline Village.  With a quaint home-town feel of small stores and boutiques on the pier, along with the plethora of sailboats, yachts, and other boats docked adjacent, this was the perfect place to make lasting memories.

If part I of the Sands wedding felt cinematic, part II deserves an Academy Award. Tucked away beneath the trees of the Calamigos Ranch, Tim and Meghan’s magical wedding began at dusk. The bride walked down an aisle that was strewn with white flower petals which served as just the touch to the perfectly intimate and whimsical ceremony. The reception was a sea of lavender, purple and white flowers with tables that were covered in candles placed neatly in pale blue jars. The beautiful cake was a lovely shade of lavender, adorned with lush white flowers and two white birds. However it was the venue’s unique lights and lanterns hanging so elegantly from the trees that set the mood of the utterly romantic evening. It was under these twinkling trees that guests dined, laughed and celebrated the union of two remarkable people. Meghan and Tim created the perfect atmosphere for dancing. We got some great shots of them as they Read More

Every once in awhile you come across a wedding that feels truly cinematic. Often used for filming, the lovely Calamigos Ranch, served as the perfect venue for actors Meghan and Tim. It was deep in the heart of Malibu Wine Country that we followed Meghan and Tim on their special day. We were with Meghan as she prepared for the day she had been dreaming of her whole life. Looking absolutely stunning in her dramatic yet understated gown, there is no doubt that the bride modeled a dress that Grace Kelly would have been proud to wear. She even added some drama with a one shoulder strap and glitter embellished shoes that shimmered stunningly under the Malibu sun. At a venue not far from where the most iconic Hollywood stars spent most of their time, Tim and his groomsmen would’ve made even Cary Grant proud in their classic tuxes. We got some great shots of the group celebrating before the Read More

Twice a year we are lucky enough to shoot for the cover of LA Bridal. This go around was especially spectacular not only due to the experience but on account of the fantastic location. Boat Bed and Breakfast on Shelter Island in San Diego proved to be a perfect setting for this shoot. This establishment transformed five boats into the ultimate bed and breakfast experience on the ocean. It wasn’t long before we took one of the boats out and got some great shots of the models in several fabulous styles. Popping champagne and exploring just about every inch of the boat we finally could not resist the temptation to take a few romantic Titanic-esque shots. At sunset the sky turned a vivid shade of bright orange offering us nothing less then perfect conditions. After sunset, Boat B&B was kind enough to allow us to shoot on a luxurious yacht. We could not have asked for better. Between the stunning Read More

John and Kim truly are a couple that exude happiness, so it was no wonder their wedding guests felt the same energy. Choosing a quaint, yet elegant feel for their wedding, John and Kim decided, Naples Island, was just the spot for their perfect day. The charming destination is best known for it’s winding canals resembling those of Venice, Italy. Kimberly was an angelic bride in an ethereal dress that echoed the old days of Hollywood glamour, complete with a crystal embellished belt. Her bouquet added the perfect pop of color, with various hues of orange that closely resembled the flowers and berries on John’s boutonniere. The couple were married under a spectacular pine tree adorned with orange paper lanterns and hanging flower baskets. Each table featured a centerpiece similar to the bride’s bouquet, along with a jar of homemade blueberry and vanilla jam with a special label that read,”Spread the love.” Throughout the day, John and Kim seemed completely relaxed, constantly smiling and laughing Read More

After Steven and Shelly’s touching ceremony, we followed the couple and the bridal party outside for some beautiful shots before sunset. Then it was back to The Chuck Jones Center for a one-of-a-kind reception and dinner. The couple sprinkled many personal touches throughout the reception, including napkins with a personalized message, bowls overflowing with candy, and countless roses and calla lilies. It was a pleasure to watch their closest family and friends take turns toasting the couple with one sweet speech after another. But it wasn’t all serious! Shelly had a big surprise waiting for Steven. She invited his favorite DJ to spin for the reception! It was a fantastic treat for everyone who intended to dance. Shelly also wowed guests by serenading everyone with a song. She has a gorgeous voice!  We also got some cheeky shots of Steven removing Shelly’s garter. Steven and Shelly are so down to earth and talented, and their wedding day embodied their spirit. Read More
