Portraits

I was contacted by this cute family a little while back because mom was in need of updating her family photos. She was seeking high-quality photography, a styled shoot, and print quality that would allow her to replace her wall prints with custom enlargements. She was also concerned with pricing, as many photographers she had contacted were willing to “shoot & burn”, and were charging session fees that were through the floor. We discussed what custom photography costs, why it’s priced accordingly, the difference between different resolutions of digital files and what they will produce when printed, and many other topics regarding her session and what to expect when it comes to deliverables. I’m happy to say that by taking the right step to invest in custom photography, Bernice is now an extremely satisfied client who immediately posted the following comment on Facebook about her experience with us: “[We] couldn’t be happier with Cameron Taylor’s work! He’s such a talented photographer Read More

Guilty as charged – I’m super slacking on blogging the recent photojournalism work with the Long Beach Post…but alas, it will make its way to the inter-webs.  So, this assignment was from weeks past, and honestly I was slightly perplexed when it came my way. Being a Long Beach local, I should know better, but I honestly had no idea that these types of events took place. That being said, I was taken back when I covered it, as the event was actually pretty cool! The Interfaith Blessing was a time when humans took a back seat to their better-half, animal companions. One major highlight was the full-blown red-carpet jaunt down Granada Beach’s walkway, featuring llamas, ponies, cats, dogs, chickens, rats…you name it! The weather we were experiencing was stunning; gorgeous, wind-swept clouds made for one of the most dramatic sunsets we have seen all year. Some of my recent work with Long Beach Post was sent to press, including the Read More

We have had such a fantastic year shooting weddings in Southern California. We also had some great opportunities to cover a few Oregon weddings this Summer. Since the brides and grooms we work for are so awesome, and have such amazing taste, Style Me Pretty has picked up one of our weddings! We will be submitting several other Summer weddings to publications during the coming down-season, and hope to share more good news with you in the very near future! We’re ecstatic to share this news with everyone, that Style Me Pretty picked up Brianne & Marcus’ Portland Oregon Merrywood Farm Wedding for feature on their Blog. Brianne & Marcus had so many unique touches interlaced into their wedding…it had a great, down-to-earth touch of country, mason jars, and great food! They even stopped after the ceremony for a quick break from the hustle bustle to have a mini-picnic and let the reality sink in. Click here to view their full wedding on our blog and Read More

Personal

You’ve got something…right there…no over a little…ya, right there on your cheek…okay, okay, got it! Messy? That might be an understatement. Fun? Yes! The little tyke has been sitting up pretty well on his own lately, and the doctors said if that’s the case, he can go ahead and start eating solid foods. He’s been noshing down squash, avocado, bananas, and all other kinds of goodies lately. At first, it was really funny because Bryce was looking at us with this hilarious face…like he was asking us what in the world we were trying to do to him. The spoon was a strange enemy, so he fought it sometimes, and other times tried to commandeer it and eat the whole thing! I think my favorites are from the very end…the final battle is over – we’re not sure who won the war – but it’s clear that there were casualties on both sides!! Haha! We’re almost due for some six Read More

There was no other option; he could not live without her. He took that leap, dropped a knee in the Gardens of Versailles, and forged their life-long path together. This love took him more than 5,000 miles, across oceans and continents, just to be with her. He knew the search was over, as no one else in this world made him feel like he did when he was with her. That spark in her eye, the smile on her face, and the wholesome feeling she had every time he was near. He was her cup of tea…her English delight (with great teeth might I add ;). He came equipped with a whit to match his charm and good looks; she was sure to cave. After Versailles, their fates were sealed and histories re-written. It’s with great honor that I am given the opportunity to share the story of Becky & John through these images. Their Newland House, Huntington Beach wedding was Read More

Working with the Long Beach Post has been a great experience. I admit that I should keep up on the blogging a little more, but we have been pretty busy with weddings as of late. Since we’re now approaching the end of October, wedding season is officially over, and there will be a strong shift into Portraits & Family work until Spring 2013. Hopefully I will also be working more often with the Long Beach Post during this time period. This assignment was especially interesting; personify the overcrowding that’s happening in the Long Beach School District through photographs. I was able to meet with a family who moved here to Long Beach, specifically to the Longfellow Elementary neighborhood, only to find out that their daughter’s attendance was impacted. In fact, they had the choice to push hard, and with force could have probably displaced children who had transferred in from other schools within the district. The other option afforded by Long Beach Read More

Why hello again! And thank you for joining us as we unveil the Stack Wedding Blog Part Two at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo . To see Part One of the Stack Wedding blog, including getting ready, first look, and Bride & Groom portraits, simply click here:  The Stack Wedding Blog – Part One. There was too much great content from the beginning of their day that we had to wait until now to show you their ceremony & reception. It’s just too hard to choose!! I digress…back on track. The venue had great areas of open shade, nice little alcoves tucked away, and it all made for such a great overall experience. Unfortunately, some areas are off limits to non-members, including some long, elegant hallways with lounges that looked suitable for boudoir. Overall, there was more than plenty to work with, and the Stacks totally rocked it! It was a relatively small wedding, making the ceremony very nice and personable, Read More
